About City Beneath the Surface --------------------------------- City Beneath the Surface is a 3D-adventure/action/role-playing game in 320x200x256 graphics mode. Before you start playing, you should first read this text file. Read the file MANUAL.TXT for information about playing the game. If you have any problems or questions about the game, feel free to contact us. City Beneath the Surface requires: ---------------------------------- 386SX/25Mhz DOS 3.0 or later 1100K XMS about 550K conventional memory (575K with Sound Blaster) A mouse VGA You can bypass the memory check if you start the game with the parameter "-nomem". You do this on your own responsibility and the game will propably crash sooner or later if you don't have enough free conventional memory. IMPORTANT! ---------- If the game does not start properly and crashes after our logo has appeared, you will have to add the following line to your config.sys file: BUFFERS=25 25 buffers should be enough but some environments might require even more than that. If the game does not start properly with 25 buffers, try 30 or 40. If you are running this game under Windows 95 or 98 and the game does not work properly then you might have to alter the advanced program settings, select the MS-DOS mode and maybe even specify a new MS-DOS configuration. You can do this by clicking the right mouse button on the icon and selecting properties-program-advanced. If you specify a new MS-DOS configuration then you should include in the configuration files at least your mouse driver and the line that states the amount of buffers you are using (explained above).
