1. GENERAL INFO
1.1 SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum:
IBM PC or compatible 386DX/33 Mhz
4 MB RAM (593,000 bytes of free base RAM + 1,000,000 bytes of free XMS)
XMS version 2.0 or above
MS DOS 5.0 or higher
VGA or 100% register-compatible video card
approx. 3.5 MB of free disk space
Recommended:
486DX/33 Mhz
High speed VGA card
Color monitor
100% Microsoft compatible mouse
Sound Blaster (2.0/pro/16)
Tip: win95/nt works, but it's pain to setup sound and keys. Sorry, but there is no fix for that.
1.2. KEYS
You can edit keys bu running setup.exe. However, there are some problems running setup from win95/nt.
Default player 1: q - up, a - down, 4 - left, 5 - right, x - fire
Default player 2: o - up, l - down, - - left, = - right, / - fire
1.3. CONFIGURATION
A. To setup game type SETUP from your FG directory.
B. Follow all on-screen prompts.
2. STARTING FG FROM A BOOT DISK
A. Place your boot disk in your A: drive.
B. Reboot your machine (CTRL-ALT-DEL on the keyboard, or press
the reset button).
C. After your machine reboots, change the active drive to the drive that
the game is on; TYPE:- C:, go to the directory that the game is on,
type FG and press ENTER to start the game.
3. MANUAL UPDATE
A. The first screen after the intro, will be the main screen
containing the following options: CLUBS, NATIONS, REPLAYS, PRACTICE,
ABOUT and MUSIC.
B. Options menu contains: PITCH, TIME, AUTO REPLAY, GAME SPEED,
VIEW COMP, GRASS TYPE and SPECIAL ANIMS.
PITCH - There are eight additional pitches: ASTRO, WET, SNOW, ICY, MUDDY,
HARD, SOFT, DRY plus four mentioned in the manual: SPRING, SUMMER,
AUTUMN and WINTER.
GAME SPEED - You have two game speeds to choose from : NORMAL and FAST.
C. In Play menu you can choose controls for each player. Just press on
the button to change the controls.
You can choose first or second kit.
There are ten different tactics to choose from:
4-4-2, 4-3-3, 5-3-2, 3-5-2, 6-3-1, 5-4-1, 4-5-1, 4-2-4, 3-3-4
and 5-2-3.
D. It is possible to save up to sixteen games named REPLAYS.000,
REPLAYS.001, ... , REPLAYS.015. The games are saved in main FG
directory so you can easely backup them (just copy all files
that have REPLAYS for the name; COPY REPLAYS.* A:).
E. Two players can play on the keyboard at the same time.
IMPORTANT: On some keyboard you can experience the problems
connected to hardware of your keyboard. Some keys
cannot be pressed in combination with others, which
means, there is a possibility that one player's keys can
interfer with other player's keys. The solution to this
problem is to check out all the combination of keys
and choose the one that best matches your keyboard.
F. You can exit from menu at any time by pressing F10.
