Kingdoms of Germany and Vikings Enhanced will be released Feb 14, 1994. You Can order directly from Realism Ent (708)-595-7487. Or soon to be in a store near you. New additions to Kingdoms of Germany and Vikings: Enhanced. ----------------------------------------------------------- 1. Vastly improved computer players AI: Computer players now have differing philosophies in the construction of their armies and such and are just as intelligent as a human in re-building their armies in line with their philosophy. They now retreat! If a computer army in battle is overwhelmed, it will retreat instead of allowing itself to be devastated! Now a kingdom cannot be defeated easily by just ganging up on a single army...they will retreat and fight another day...or go around and invade the attacking kingdom! They now search for ore. They also construct and defend more castles allowing them to become even tougher. ( read the sell sheet, I've lost at the Average level, and I used to ALWAYS win ! ) 2. Quickmove(tm): This option allows the player to double the rate which the armies move at; both the computer and humans. This is accomplished at any time by holding down the RMB while the army is moving. 3. Double Quickmove(tm) and Auto-Quickmove (tm): Auto-Quickmove(tm) is the option which can be used to make Quickmove(tm) active at all times; this is accomplished by hitting the F3 key to toggle is on and off. While Auto-Quickmove(tm) is active simply holding down the RMB will activate Double Quickmove(tm) and this gives the armies a four fold increase in movement speed! 4. Quicksiege: Quicksiege allows sieges to be calculated and updated to the screen as fast as the players computer will allow. Holding the RMB down during a siege implements this option. 5. End of turn checking for movable armies: F4 toggles this option on and off. This option will, at the end of a turn, check all of the current players armies and if any have 7 or more days remaining and notify you of this fact and allow the turn to continue if the player wishes. 6. Immediate/Delayed catapult construction option: This option is selected on the Game Setup screen when a game is started. Immediate mode means that any Small Castle or larger may produce as many catapults as the player wishes and gain them immediately in that castles garrison. Delayed mode imposes some very realistic (Realism) limitations on catapult construction. First, catapults are delayed a turn before they are gained by the garrisons and this may be delayed like a castle level that is being constructed; if a catapult, or more than 1, is being constructed in a castle and a battle (siege) takes place and the defender is victorious the construction is disrupted and the catapult is delayed a turn. However, if the same battle takes place and the victor is the attacker then the catapult(s) are destroyed in the battle. The final restriction is a limit on the maximum amount of catapults that may be constructed in a castle each turn based on the castle level. Small Castle 1 Large Castle 2 Home Castle 3 7. Dispatch/Gather troops: Castles may now Dispatch a % of its garrison to one or more territories that are adjacent or Gather a % from the same based on the level of the castle. This enhacement is activated when a castle is constructed and can be found on that territories Information Scroll that the castle is built in. 8. Quick and easy food shortage/crop increase notification: This enhacement is always active and is used in the Food and Harvest phase of a turn. If a territory has a current food shortage then its territory marker or, if a castle is constructed there, its flag flashes on and off. Also, if a territory has a crop field shortage, i.e. the populace can farm more crop fields than are currently cleared, the marker or flag will also flash. To distinguish between the two, all that needs to be done is to move the mouse pointer over the flashing marker/flag territory and check the left arrow in the hot scroll. 9. Computer armies: All computer armies are hidden from a human players view unless a human player is taking his/her turn, then the armies in adjacent territories to his/her kingdom's territories are shown. 10. Army and Flotilla Stacking: If a territory has more than one army then the armies are shifted slightly to the left so a player can now see how many armies are currently there. This is also true for flotillas in a sea space. Stacking is always active. If you have any questions please contact me at dpotter@home.interaccess.com. Thank You, David Potter Realism Entertainment
