Welcome to the Destruction Derby PC Looping Demo!

Due to the sophisticated realtime 3D rendering in
the game, this demo requires a 486DX-33, 6 Megs of
total RAM, 400k of free DOS memory, 4 Megs of EMS
memory, and 16 megabytes of free space on drive C.

For best results, a VESA VL bus or PCI bus video card
is also reccomended, with a 486DX2-66 or better,
SoundBlaster or compatible sound card, and a digital
joystick.

This demo is an interactive sample of the full game.

This demo is intended to give you a feel for the game's
performance on your system. Like any 3D game, we
reccomend that you play Destruction Derby on the highest
spec machine you have access to.

Things that make a difference in DD:

1. Video Bus

ISA video cards don't work with this game.
You will be able to see what's happening, but
expect only 5-10 fps for your trouble.

VL Bus (VESA Local) video cards will perform
acceptably with DD. Expect about 15 fps with
DRAM based cards, and about 20+ for VRAM parts.

PCI Bus VRAM video cards are what we reccomend
for the game. With a fast card you can achieve
an eyeball-bursting 30 frames per second!!!

2. Processor Architecture

You will need a system with at least a 486DX-33 to run this
game. In reality, most 33's are hindered by a slow memory
subsystem, which makes them perform more like 386's.

Therefore, we reccomend a newer 486DX2-66 or better, preferably
with a large external cache. Best performance will result
from play on a 486DX3/4 75/100 or Pentium system with
interleaved (72 Pin SIMM, or EDO) memory.

3. Sound Card

The demo supports several sound cards, and the SETSOUND
program can be used to select yours. We reccomend the
SoundBlaster family of boards for use with this game.

Although this is a demo, please be aware that what
you see on the screen is being generated in real time, and is not
a "movie".

Because this demo has been cut from an early version of
the game, the final version may boast features / options not found
in the demo.

** In the full game, various attributes may be adjusted to speed up the game **
