DOS Arcade game from JJsoft from 1996.
Self-published

Paddlers is a Breakout like brick-breaking game for up to four players on the same field, with the paddles positioned at all four sides of the screen, and bricks in the centre. Any paddle can be assigned to either human or AI control. As usual, the objective is to clear the screen of all bricks/blocks, but here you'll only score points or get bonuses if the ball is of the same colour as your paddle when it hits the bricks. The ball changes colour depending on which paddle it bounced off last. It's an interesting diversion from classic Breakout / Arkanoid rules, and the game has very nice 16-colour graphics, but it's not particularly exciting to play on the whole. There is not much variety to ball physics and flying speed, and one bonus will stretch the paddle across the whole screen, so the player has nothing to do for the duration of the effect. Paddlers was released by its author James Saito as freeware.
