Freshman high school student Jeff Marcos, bored out of his wits, decides to
sneak out at night to go to the beach with his friends, until he feels
something strange emanating from behind his house. He quickly discovers a
portal behind his back yard, only to be sucked in it and dropped off onto an
island where nothing is what it seems. Trapped in this new dimension, Jeff goes
on a journey across the isle to save towns from various evil entities,
acquiring the ability to shoot water bullets, but at the same time, he wishes
for something even greater: a way home.
Spread out into three ZZT world files and six levels with much action to be
had, "The Abnormal Dimension" is an experience you may never forget --
especially after all the nonsense that goes on.

THE ABNORMAL DIMENSION
by The Green Herring
Incomplete Historical Release
(Part 1 Only)
v1.0
last developed circa September 25, 2006 (source file timestamp);
this edited version released on March 22, 2022
Around 15 years before the release of my hit ZZT game "Cyber Purge", I was
developing a zany comedy game that I advertised on my old website, but never
released in any form: "The Abnormal Dimension".
This is an edited release of Part 1 of "The Abnormal Dimension", the only part
of the game that was ever finished. The original file was created circa 2006,
hence my giving its Museum release a release date from that year (specifically
the timestamp of that file). However, the timestamp is from this year, because
I edited this world to fix bugs in the original file and to remove badly-aged
content, copyrighted characters, and references that would date it badly.
The computer on which this game resided, along with Part 2 and 3, was lost
forever at the end of 2019. However, a chance reunion with my oldest friend,
spd12, in the year 2022 (a few days ago, in fact) led to Part 1 being recovered
alongside its previous version, "Geoff's Tale: The Weird Dimension", which,
unlike this version, was actually completed.
Unfortunately, "Geoff's Tale" turned out to be almost entirely unreleasable
apart from a couple of boards due to being the product of its author, myself,
being a teenager in the year 2000, an overt otaku, and a massive AKWare fanboy,
with all the ugliness that entails. Those scant few releasable boards will be
included with Volume II of my ZZT magazine, "The Library of the Green Herring".
On the other hand, the existing Part 1 of "The Abnormal Dimension" was suited
for a release on its own with just the aforementioned rewrites and bugfixes.
"Part 1: Mayorships in Peril" contains two levels to play through: Gesundheit
and Zorkyst. There were to be four more levels spread out two at a time through
Parts 2 and 3, but Parts 2 and 3 were not finished, were lost forever, and will
never be released, meaning that the password you receive at the end of Part 1
will never be used. That said, Part 1 has enough material inside of it to be
worthwhile on its own, including action sequences and even some puzzles.
Enjoy!
