# Doug Tudeap in: The Ore Gone Trail
By: Dr. Dos
Genre: Arcade/Engine/Contest/Ludum Dare
Version: 1.00
Date: Apr. 25, 2021
## How to Play
* For the Windows version run zeta86.exe to open ZZT
* For the web version, ZZT will automatically open
* Linux users that don't want to run the web version will need to compile [Zeta](https://zeta.asie.pl). (This game was developed on Linux, so I swear it's dirt simple to compile.)
* Select "K"eyboard and "C"olor. Hit "P" to play.
* In the event of a file error, hit "W" to open the world menu and select the only included world with "Enter". Then try hitting "P" again.
* Arrows will move the player character around (the white on blue smiley face). "S" will save. "Escape" will pause.
* Use the player to control the minecart's speed by stepping between the green and red arrows on each stage and then using up/down to interact with them.
* Press the spacebar to toggle gates.
## Description
"Doug Tudeap in: The Ore Gone Trail" is a ZZT world created for Ludum Dare 48.
The theme for the contest was "Deeper and Deeper". It was created under a 48
hour deadline and submitted to the compo rather than the jam.
Story is provided in the ZZT world itself. I have 56 minutes to write this and
package it.
Gameplay involves controlling the velocity of a minecart and collecting various
gems and minerals before time runs out. The game is a score attack and there is
no way to lose. Various gates open and close throughout the mines which change
the path your minecart will take. Pressing the spacebar will toggle the
open/closed state of all gates on the board.

## Source
ZZT worlds are neither protected nor compiled. You can hit "E" on the title
screen to open the ZZT editor. Those that wish to take a more serious look at
how the game was made or make their own ZZT worlds should look into external
ZZT editors such as [KevEdit](https://github.com/cknave/kevedit).

## Support
Support my creation and experimentation with ZZT:
[Worlds of ZZT Patreon](https://patreon.com/worldsofzzt)
I was able to participate in this Ludum Dare as I recently left my retail job
to focus on ZZT work. I run the Museum of ZZT to keep an archive of ZZT worlds
alive and primarilly write articles discussing the thousands of games which have
been made in ZZT over the past 30 years.

The external resources, such as tarballs or Git repositories, are then available as part of the object. Their files can be considered local to the object and usable in scripts or as part of a build process.
For resources that are only to be used as part of the build or runtime of the object, it is best to describe those local to those sections.
