Originally hosted on: http://voighdt.trap.cx/aureole.html
This archive contains a collection of demos from the Red Aureole ZZT programming group.
In addition, the text from the original website is preserved.
Many of the games are unpreserved. The ones which are preserved as of writing (November 18th, 2018) are:
* Army of the Dark Elves, Gold Keys, Kwest, No Point III, Segment ZZT, This Game is Wonky (this .zip)
* ZZT Town 2: Sierra (sierra.zip)
* Teddydog (teddydog.zip)
Some of the cultural context is probably lost on me.

.ABOUT RED AUREOLE.
red aureole was/is a short/long-lived zzt programming group comprised of mostly people fairly new to zzt. it started in march of
1998 as aureole software and gradually grew in size to nine members. only a few of these members really had true promise in the
world of zzt. the rest did not really have much of a chance. due to lack of communication and interest, red aureole split apart
in august/september 1998 and many of the members either quit zzt or went their own direction. since then, the ashes of red
aureole have been forming into something.. it is unknown what that something is at the time being, but it shall all be revealed
soon. if someone finds out about a red aureole ex-member who is still in zzt of whom i am not aware if they are in zzt or not,
please inform me.
*NEW*!! THE FOURTH POKEY ZZT!! AVAILABLE HERE FIRST!!
.THE RELEASES/GAMES/DEMOS OF RED AUREOLE.
anyway, here are some games made by red aureole and demos of never-completed games that have now been uploaded to the internet
for the first time. you can now see for yourself what could or could not have been of something that might or might not have been
something else that should not have been whatever else it would not have been when it should not have been something else it was
not being. and if you understood that, i owe you a cookie, sir. no, wait.. i ran out of cookies! i must go straight to hell and
not pass GO! and not collect 200 dollars! errmmmm....... nevermind, scratch all of that... just download the damn games.
pkeoy ztz 4: lso refrtos!11 - the fourth in the pokey zzt series. 25 BAORODS FO MANDDESE!
pokey's volleyball - the best damn sports game made in zzt.. erm, then again, there aren't many sports games in zzt.. ah, well.
IT STILL FUCKIN KICKS ASS
pokey zzt 2: pkeys grtea advntsur - the sequel to one of the greatest zzt games of all time. by ff6sabin.
town of zzt 2 - a more difficult and challenging sequel to the original 'town of zzt' by tim sweeney. kompleted by ff6sabin.
segment zzt - a cleverly constructed follow-up to 'centipede'. quoth the dracle of eaglerock interactive on the game, "it's so
suspenseful... it keeps chasing me.. with such passion.... it has a message to it, hidden within the ammo and the gems.. the
beauty... the gems and the ammo... the balanced forces of ZZT... and you... lost.... LOST within the world of zzt, being persued
by the need to create good... but how in a world so corrupt... surounded with danger... yet at the same time safe.... safe from
it all." kreated by ff6sabin.
no point III - a new game by ff6sabin. indeed, it has NO point whatsoever, therefore living up to the title.
TEDDYDOG - a freaky new full game created by stup. real short, but still IT KICKS ASS!@#$$%
centipede - voighdt's first game. this is actually the "eri version", but there are not many differences between the two really,
except for the fact that the first version had more bugs. It's the same game, either way.
blue's clues - a demo of oryx-de-cow's first and only attempt at a zzt game. this one is pretty baaaaad, and after i remade the
graphix and beta-tested it, i figured it was pretty much impossible to make this game any good. but still, there IS some good
jokes in it, but that's about all there is that's g00d.
super mario zzt - a demo of thepiper's quite successful attempt at porting a classic nintendo game into zzt. the graphix are
quite impressive and the plot as well.
yoshi's quest - a demo of the follow-up to 'super mario zzt'. this one has even better graphics and a great likeness to that of
nintendo's work. shigeru miyamoto would be proud.. or then again, HE PROBABLY WOULDN'T BE MWUAHAHA..
kwest - a demo of voighdt's quite lousy attempt at kreating an adventure game in zzt. it's not worth downloading... trust me,
sir.
this game is wonky - heh. this could have been voighdt's third release under red aureole had he not abandoned the whole thing
before the completion of the first screen of the game.
sierra - a demo of c-ball's adventure game in zzt. not really much of a plot to it, but it's still somewhat good, nonetheless.
gold keys - a demo of toykirby's dark apocalyptic action/adventure/puzzle game. pretty damn kreepy, eh?
any colour you like - kind of an early version of what was to become the '60 kolourkit kollection' released under eagle rock
interactive.
army of the dark elves - a demo of genie500's awesome rpg/adventure game loosely based off of the 'Riftwar Saga' by Raymond E.
Feist. this game had some real potential, such a pity he moved onto better/worse things, like megazeux...

The external resources, such as tarballs or Git repositories, are then available as part of the object. Their files can be considered local to the object and usable in scripts or as part of a build process.
For resources that are only to be used as part of the build or runtime of the object, it is best to describe those local to those sections.
