DOS Prototype game from Free Lunch Design from 1997.
Self-published
1997
Meteor Storm is essentially an early prototype of Johan Peitz' Operation Spacehog. It is a simple side-scrolling shooter in space, where the player needs to dodge or destroy meteors/asteroids and alien ships that look like golden rings. Along the way, powerups may be collected that will grant the ship extra firepower or other abilities. Meteor Storm was released as freeware. There is no sound or music, and the game terminates once the player's ship is destroyed, and the final score is displayed.
Description by MrFlibble
Press Ctrl to fire, Alt to select available powerups. If the game speed is too slow in DOSBox, press Ctrl+F12 repeatedly to increase the amount of emulated CPU cycles (=emulation speed).
