DOS Puzzle game from Standsoft from 1991.
Schenk & Horn
1991
This is yet another Boulder Dash clone that stays close to the source material. You control a child-looking figure in Lederhosen who is after diamonds in a fairly abstract environment filled with both useful items and hazards. The developers took care to slowly introduce the player to the various gameplay elements, so the first ten or so levels (out of a total of 100 in the registered version) are essentially a protracted tutorial. The goal of each level is to collect a certain number of diamonds and reach the exit before the allotted time runs out. The amount of points awarded for each diamond depends on the difficulty setting. Gathering extra diamonds above the current level's quota results in extra points. Other useful items can be found like pick-axes that can destroy boulders or dynamite sticks to blow up walls (press space to place a dynamite stick). Hostile monsters that roam some levels may be avoided to destroyed by dropping boulders on them, but contact with the monsters is lethal to the player. The game was marketed as shareware, with 100 new levels in the registered version.
