Kaboom! ZZT
By: Zandor 12
Genre: Arcade/Action/Trippy
Submitted: May 6th, 2002
And here would be my first game, Kaboom! ZZT, the port of the old Atari
2600 game Kaboom! that Activision made twenty or so years ago. Although
I technically released Betra a few days earlier, I started work on
Kaboom! ZZT first, so I count it as my first. And now, since you've
read this, I WILL RUIN ALL OF THE GAME'S SECRETS FOR YOU!!!
Secret Stuff: (Remember, finding it yourself is better)

The game has a secret flag, that sets forth THE SIDE QUEST OF MUCH
POINTLESSNESS!!! In the northwest part of the starting board, talk to
the Llama. (It kinda blends in with its surroundings, but you can't
miss it if you know that it's there.) After it steals your soul, keep
talking to it repeatedly until it sets the flag for you and teleports
away. THE QUEST IS UNDERWAY. From there, talk to Zandor, go one
board south and talk to Bigfoot, go one board north and throw the rock
at Zandor, then head one board west and meet Napoleon, then walk into
his trap. On the title screen replica board, just wait for the flying
monkeys to show up while the title screen plays. I ACTUALLY SPENT AS
MUCH TIME ON THE TITLE SCREEN AS I DID ON THE KABOOM ENGINE, IF NOT
MORE. Then, kill the monkeys before they kill Zandor. Talk to him to
end the game.
While waiting for the monkeys, try shooting at Zandor yourself.
Align yourself vertically with the passage leading to the pointless
eeevil supercomputer and walk north. A hidden path shows up. Have I
mentioned how pointless the supercomputer is?
On the east balcony, zap through the wall and talk to the moving dot.
In the Kaboom! engine, 400 points makes a flying monkey appear and fly
into the wall. 2000 points makes the game insult you.
