a text file that you can print for quick reference.
The User's manual is contained in text file 'SQ1BOOK.TXT', you should to read
the section: "WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW TO ENJOY THE GAME". There is some good tips!
You must read the section "VIRTUAL ADVENTURES SOFTWARE LICENSE AGREEMENT" before
using this software.
Some third party (other than Microsoft) EMS Memory managers have been found
to REBOOT your computer when you try to run the game. To correct the problem
either remove the line "DEVICE = EMM386..." from your config.sys file and
REBOOT your PC (if you do not use any program that requires EMS memory) or
create a BOOT disk (see the game user's manual on how to create a BOOT disk).
You should install and run this software from the DOS prompt, not from
Windows (tm). To get out of Windows (tm), select File Exit or ALT-F4. For
Windows 95' (tm), you can click on the Start button in the the bottom left-hand
corner of the Windows 95 Taskbar, select the Shut Down, and pick Restart in
MS-DOS Mode.
Some VGA cards show a flickering screen with dark bars if you have the
'COLOR CYCLING' option set to ON in the page IMAGE DETAIL/QUALITY of the GAME
OPTIONS menu. You can turn this option OFF to eliminate the problem.
If you have a system, a VGA or a sound card that is not compatible with our
product, we would be interested in knowing it. Please fill in the problem
report sheet at the end of your user's manual and FAX it or mail it to the
address below.
If you set the Collision detection to OFF, some games may not work properly
like 'protect from asteroid' which will not work at all (the base never gets
destroyed by the incoming asteroids). Other games may look funny (moving
spaceships may pass through planets, buildings).
Undocumented features :
You can restore the default settings of the game by pressing [ALT] & [R] at
the same time while in the main menu. This may be useful if you had your turbo
switch OFF when you installed the game or if you just bought a joystick or
sound card.
You can freeze the game display by pressing [CTRL] & [S] at the same time.
To unfreeze it, just press [CTRL] & [S] twice or [CTRL] & [Q].
Have fun !
