The Quest for Coffee (itch.io version)
######################################
Agent Orange/PogeSoft, 2021
Genre:Other/Adventure/Story
UPDATED February 2021
This game was written nearly a year ago (Feb-March 2020), when most of the world was only beginning to adopt lockdowns to contain the spread of COVID-19. I wrote it at time when coffee shops where I live hadn't made up their mind if they should stay open for takeaway or hunker down until the lockdown lifted. This also explains the somewhat light-heartened tone of this game, as well as the fact that it isn't set in the US. Due to ZZT board limits I could not add any more flavour objects to better reflect current events and the public mood where I live. I did try, though.
Gameplay-wise, this is essentially a guessing game to find a coffee shop that isn't closing; the 'open' one being determined at random when the game begins. What instructions you need are in the game when you start. In real life, if you *do* find a coffee shop open nearby during the COVID-19 pandemic, please remember to get takeaway, stay socially distanced if queueing, or not go at all. And wear a mask.
This version was published on itch.io a week before before being uploaded to the Musem.
Thanks for Zephyr for providing a better randomization routine for coffe shop selection.
